Meet Joshua
About Joshua
Joshua is a counsellor who works alongside people as they navigate the complexity, uncertainty, and emotional weight of life. His work is grounded in a humanistic perspective and guided by a simple belief: meaningful change happens when people feel understood, respected, and supported to reconnect with their own strengths and sense of agency, to act in ways that align with what matters to them.
With a background in counselling and personal training, Joshua takes a whole-person approach to therapy. Before entering private practice, he worked across mental health, youth and disability services, and physical health settings, where he saw how struggle is often carried quietly — and how long-term stress or trauma can embed itself not only in thoughts and emotions, but in the body and nervous system. These experiences shaped his attentiveness to the way mind and body interact under pressure, reinforcing his commitment to meeting people exactly where they are — without assumptions, labels, or judgement.
Joshua offers a calm, collaborative space where you don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan before you arrive. Therapy is shaped around your experiences, values, and goals, recognising that no two people — or nervous systems — are the same. His role is not to “fix” you, but to help you make sense of what’s happening, build resilience and capacity, and move forward toward a version of life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and sustainable for you.
Joshua’s Approach
Joshua’s approach to counselling is person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.
In practice, this means:
You are seen as the expert in your own life
Therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and respectful
Your past experiences are acknowledged without defining you
Change is supported through understanding, not pressure
Sessions are practical, reflective, and collaborative. Some people come wanting clarity around a specific issue; others come feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Both are welcome here.
